Anyone else love things with their name on it? I remember finding pajamas for the first time that were a brand called Kathryn at TJ Maxx when I was in middle school…I was obsessed that I found something with the correct spelling of my name. It’s like going to the gas station and looking through the license plate key chains for your name and only finding every other spelling, but when you find your spelling it’s a game changer. Side note…I once saw a pink license plate on an SUV in Grapevine, Texas that said KATHRYN and I was thrilled (and maybe slightly jealous).
When I was looking for a dress for an event last month, I was looking for a traditional and conservative dress in a solid print that I’d blend in with the crowd. I helped plan the luncheon with my mom and some dear friends…literally all we had to do on the committee was suggest linens, centerpieces, food, and then show up (easiest job ever, thanks Christy and Janae (shown below with my gorgeous friend, Leigh)!). Anyway, I knew the tablecloths would be navy, so I was sort of searching for a navy dress so I could carry it into Fall, but also still be undercover and blend in with the room (and patriotic since it’s a school color and it was at my Alma mater).
I found THE perfect dress and then when I added it to my cart at Nordstrom I realized it was called KATHRYN! I knew it was a must have and anxiously awaited it to arrive. It fit perfectly and I felt confident in it…so perfect, right? I remember talking to my friend Christy the day before and she told me she had a navy dress for the next day as well…which it did cross my mind that we may have the same dress. Turns out, Christy looked darling and had a different dress (shown above)…but then my sweet friend Candice (who was my boss when I was at DBU) showed up in the exact same dress. Not only that, we had the same shoes, clutch, and a similar necklace on. Since my mom was hosting the luncheon, we were asked to sit at the President’s Table with my SIL and our friend Candice, the First Lady of DBU. Candice and I ended up sitting next to each other in our matching getup. I couldn’t admire someone more as she loves Jesus, her husband, her family, friends, and her University with every part of her being.
Needless to say, this dress is it for Fall! It’s the perfect dress to wear to a luncheon, fun girls night, church, or work. All it takes is a switch of the shoes, jewelry, and purse and you’ve got a different outfit for a different event. Plus, it comes in a gorgeous navy (as shown) as well as a deep pink.
